Here’s from Neil Squilante, Sara Skiff and the rest of the gang at TechnoLawyer (one of the best legal tech resources available), just announced and just released! And congratulations to Vickie Pynchon of the Settle It Now Negotiation Blog for inclusion among its featured bloggers!

The rumors are true. We’ve spent this year secretly working on a groundbreaking new eBook that we think you’ll find extremely useful:

BlawgWorld 2007 with TechnoLawyer Problem/Solution Guide

It’s actually two eBooks in the same PDF file.

BlawgWorld 2007 is the best way to explore and discover legal blogs (blawgs). It features 77 remarkable essays from 77 of the most influential blawgs. Each blogger handpicked their best essay of the year for inclusion in the eBook.

The 2007 TechnoLawyer Problem/Solution Guide is a revolutionary new way to find Solutions to Problems your law firm is experiencing. Specifically, it contains 185 “Problems” and corresponding “Solutions” organized into 58 different topics. Each Problem is written in the form of a question from the point of view of a law firm. [Gini's note: according to Jim Calloway, this is a sponsored feature, so the vendors' perspectives may prevail over what independent consultants might advise... yet still a useful tool!]

It’s not just for law offices, or lawyers, although mainly so. Read more »

Great ADR Track At New Mexico Bar’s July Annual Meeting! — EngagingConflicts.com

There was an entire ADR track at the New Mexico Bar’s July annual meeting in Ruidoso, with presentations on ADR in family law cases, in employment disputes, in health care, and in governmental services. The conference was well-attended… I’m sure in part because of its entire program, but I’m also sure that attendance was enhanced by the fact that the Keynote Speaker was Retired Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Sandra Day O’Connor, speaking on “Independence of the Judiciary.” Bravo to the ADR program planners and presenters, and to the New Mexico Bar for spotlighting ADR!

Free Emotional Intelligence Test At Six Seconds — EngagingConflicts

clay-pig.jpgI’ve posted before about Six Seconds, a not-for-profit organization providing emotional intelligence information, tools, and services. Back in October 2006 they offered their SEI Strengths Report at no charge (when it is usually $15), which I posted about here. Now for the month of July 2007, they are offering the SEI 360. From their site:

The SEI 360 is a new tool that measures “Emotional Performance” (EP) — the way your emotional intelligence is playing out in your daily life and relationships with others. While Six Seconds is conducting validation research on the tool (July ‘07), it is availabe for you to try at no cost (normally this type of assessment costs around $150).

Here’s the link to the site for more information and the opportunity to take the SEI 360.

Also from their site:

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage feelings. It is the key competency for personal effectiveness, essential to communication, self-direction, problem-solving, and leadership.

Our research with the Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment shows emotional intelligence predicts over 50% of success in life and work.

The good news: Everyone can learn these skills.

The Six Seconds EQ Model is a simple process for developing and using emotional intelligence. There are three pursuits:

Know Yourself – become more aware of your own emotions and behaviors

Choose Yourself – manage your reactions to follow your best intentions

Give Yourself – ensure your daily choices are in line with your vision and purpose

eye-close-up.jpgStephanie West Allen of Idealawg is putting on an exciting mediation training in January 2008 in the Bay Area of California… here’s the link to her site for more information about Brains On Purpose Seminar. She also has a new Brains On Purpose blog. I’m late in welcoming her new blog because I was late finding a chunk of time to sit and read it! Great stuff! Thank you, Stephanie.
